Volvo Teams Up with Tesla for Seamless Supercharging

Seamless Supercharging access comes to Volvo, with both companies collaborating to bring the Tesla experience to Volvo owners.

From the fourth quarter of this year, the Tesla app will be available to Volvo drivers to charge their fully electric Volvo at over 20,000 Tesla Supercharger stations across Europe.

This collaboration provides easier and more convenient access to Tesla Superchargers in 29 European countries, with most available in key markets such as Germany, France, Norway, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Spain.

Volvo Cars is also eyeing the North American Charging System for access to the Tesla Supercharger network for Volvo drivers in the future in countries supporting NACS.

Alejandro Castro Pérez, Head of Energy Solutions at Volvo Cars says “Volvo drivers already have access to over three million charging points globally through the Volvo app. Adding Tesla Superchargers in Europe means they now have even easier access to one of the most recognised fast charging networks. As we accelerate towards full electrification, our goal is to make charging simple and effortless, through a seamless ecosystem.”

Volvo Cars aims to simplify the ownership of their fully electric vehicles making it much simpler than today’s experience. This also includes simplifying the public charging experience, making it easier for Volvo customers to transition from internal combustion cars, into their electric cars.
