Volvo EX30 Gets Upgrades with a Soft 2026 Refresh

The headline figure is Volvo has a new entry spec car with the EX30, their smallest and least expensive car on sale. Additionally, there is a raft of updates across the EX30 range for 2026.

The New Entry level EX30

The new entry spec EX30 gets a new powertrain, with 150 PS from a 51 kWh battery providing 211 miles of WLTP range, which Volvo describes eloquently as "the power you need" and a perfect entry point for those who seek a premium car, but don't need the legs of the more expensive options. The largest battery pack in the EX30 offers 296 miles of range from 69 kWh.

Volvo hasn't revealed prices yet, but it will undoubtedly undercut the more powerful 51 kWh Core priced at £33,000.

Two New Trims

At the top of the pecking order is the Black Edition, which Volvo revealed a few weeks ago and you can read about that here.

And there are two new interior trims called Harvest - offering warm, light tones in the woven recycled textile upholstery - and Black, which is the opposite and offers deep-black shade with black headlining to provide a near cave-like ambiance.

2026 Updates

The in-car infotainment system has received a major update which improves controls with a redesigned settings that brings the required controls closer to hand, and a new customizable contents bar that frees up space for the most important actions for the driver's personal preferences.

Infotainment System

Volvo will now offer Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) for those who would like to power plug-in devices/appliances directly from their car to charge or use, providing a mobile power-bank. However, customers will need to purchase the necessary adapter from Volvo.

Both the refreshed infotainment and V2L will be enabled via an over-the-air software update, but the U.K. will need to wait a little longer for these.
