Volkswagen ID. Tiguan to Replace the ID.4 and ID.5
The Volkswagen ID.4 is nearly seven years old and has received several changes over that time having delivered nearly 1 million units to customers.
It’s success can be attributed to Volkswagen’s strong brand appeal, great build quality whilst offering the right cars at the right time.
But now Volkswagen is changing tactics by deepening its brand loyalty and has started the process of replacing its first generation EVs with recognised models, starting with the ID. Cross and ID. Polo. Now the ID.4 and ID.5 replacement is getting the same treatment with the ID. Tiguan.

The all-electric model builds on the strengths of the best-seller and offers premium design, generous space, intuitive operation and innovative technologies. Together, both models form a strong offering for our customers’ different powertrain preferences.”
With the Volkswagen Tiguan being one of the world’s best sellers, the combustion and hybrid versions will also live on, but this is not a multi-fuel product - as found with other brands - because the ID. Tiguan is being built on the Volkswagen Group’s latest version of the MEB+ platform.
The pictures show a near-production concept in camouflage wrap, but the production version will be fully revealed in October, and after that, its expected to go on sale in early 2027.
