Volkswagen ID. Polo Prices, Specs and Launch Date
The new Volkswagen ID. Polo is the latest addition to the all-electric ID range and will sit alongside the petrol-powered Polo on an EV only MEB+ platform.
The ID. Polo offers more cabin and boot space with the latter measured at 441 litres vs it’s petrol-powered sibling at 351 litres, but it comes with a near £2,000 price hike. Think of it as something in between a Polo and Golf, with only a modest increase in external dimensions to make sense of the price.
Launch Date
The all new ID. Polo will be available to order from 30 July 2026, with prices starting from £23,945, on the road. But there is a catch, because to get the new electric Polo at that price, you will need to wait until September. Volkswagen will instead offer two launch editions available from the end of July.
Launch Editions
The launch editions start from £25,555 called the ID. Polo Style Launch Edition, and the ID. Polo Life Launch Edition.
The Life model is equipped with two-zone air conditioning, heated front seats and heated multi-function steering wheel. Whilst the Style Launch Edition adds a panoramic glass roof, massage front seats, Area View camera, Travel Assist, Park Assist Pro and rear privacy glass.
Battery, Range and Charging
Battery sizes are 52 kWh with 211 PS, available as a factory order, or 37 kWh and 135 PS which will be in stock and available straight away. The larger battery qualifies for the Band 2 EV Car Grant attracting a £1,500 discount from the list price.
The 37 kWh battery pack is said to offer around 204 miles of range, with the 52 kWh battery pack offering up to 281 miles of range.
Charging at a rapid charger from 10% to 80% takes 24 minutes irrespective of the battery chosen, which is very reasonable given the lower price points of the ID. Polo.
Equipment
When the series-production versions go on sale in September specs and prices change. For example, the ID. Polo Life includes parking sensors, driving mode selection, rear-view camera, 12.9-inch infotainment screen, wireless phone charging with AppConnect and a height-adjustable boot floor.
The ID. Polo Style standard equipment will include IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights, illuminated logos and front light bar, interior ambient lighting with ID.Light, 18-inch alloy wheels, sports comfort seats in the front and ‘play’ and ‘pause’ accelerator and brake pedals.

Power and Performance
The range will increase over time including a top-of-the-range GTi version.
ID. Polo GTi
The new ID. Polo has been confirmed to get a GTi version, which Volkswagen promises to be a true GTi, although there is no U.K. launch date yet, sales are due to start in the autumn in Germany, priced from €39,000.
