Vauxhall Partners with Kerbo Charge to Bring Home Charging to Households Without a Driveway
Vauxhall has taken advantage of recent legislation that permits cross-pavement charging with safe cable passage to the car thanks to a partnership with Kerbo Charge.
Nearly 42% of councils have signed up to creating home charging for households with no driveway by the end of 2026, which will undoubtedly help accelerate the advent of electric cars providing households with a cheap overnight tariff to charge their EVs.
Kerbo Charge are leaders in cross pavement charging solutions, installing a wall charger to the house and creating a thin gully in the pavement, covered with a flexi-rubber seal, residents can run their charging cable beneath the pavement surface with no discernible hazard on the footpath.
Kerbo Charge Gully Partnered with Vauxhall
Vauxhall has called on councils to unite in their offering of cross-pavement charging solutions allowing for a nationwide consistent approach as research shows costs for installations can vary by over £1,000 depending on council regulations.
However, Vauxhall will offer a £500 discount for Kerbo Charge installation to customers as part of its ‘Electric All In’ offer.

Vauxhall is taking a serious approach to electric vehicles having recently announced price parity with their refreshed Astra, meaning customers can choose, electric, hybrid or plug-in hybrid and the price remains exactly the same irrespective of powertrain.
Eurig Druce, Managing Director, Vauxhall and Group Managing Director, Stellantis UK, said: “Cross-pavement charging is a great way to ensure EV charging access is available for the millions of drivers wanting to be able to charge at home, opening the door for many who are thinking about making the switch but still have concerns about practical charging near them. To allow drivers across the country to feel confident going electric, councils need to ensure they are providing drivers with as much clarity as possible about the options available to them, and how they can install EV charging outside their door.
We are looking forward to working with Kerbo Charge to help even more drivers access practical charging solutions near them, and support councils on their own journeys to help more local residents to go electric.”
Vauxhall is committed to electrifying Britain and has offered an electric version of every car and van in its line-up since 2024, with all models being compliant to the UK government’s Electric Car Grant (ECG), saving customers £1,500 off the list price.
