The new Omoda 7 Slides into View at Goodwood

Chery International showed off its new top-of-the-range OMODA 7 plug-in hybrid at Goodwood, with it’s all-new top-spec Noble Tech trim.

The reason? It was a display of two innovations; a remote parking assistance technology, but more eye catching is the sliding infotainment screen.

The remote parking assistant allows the driver to remain outside the vehicle whilst it parks itself. Handy for those tight spots. And the system supports parallel, perpendicular and angled parking, too providing greater flexibility for those occasional tricky parking issues.

With the sliding screen, some may recall BYD utilising the central display by offering both a landscape and portrait layout at the touch of a button. However, OMODA takes this a step further by providing the front passenger with the option to slide the central display over to the passenger side.

The rather large 15.6-inch sliding infotainment screen gives flexibility to passengers that want to enjoy the immersive digital experience, says OMODA.

This technology is a first for the brand so it could be a technology that finds its way into more OMODA and JAECOO models.

The Noble Tech trim builds on an already comprehensive Noble specification, including a 12-speaker SONY audio system, six-way electrically adjustable heated and ventilated front seats, a 1.45-metre panoramic sunroof and 20-inch alloy wheels. Also included is OMODA's integrated air fragrance bar, offering three signature scents and nine adjustable fragrance settings .

The OMODA 7 SHS-P features the Chery International in-house Super Hybrid System (SHS-P), comprised of a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and an 18.3kWh battery.

This plug-in hybrid system produces a combined 204 PS and 365 Nm of torque, and will allow the OMODA to complete a 0-62 mph run in a modest 8.4 seconds.

The OMODA 7 SHS-P Noble Tech is priced from £35,505, complete with a very generous specification, whilst the plug-in hybrid system delivers more than 700 miles of total range from a full charge and a full tank of petrol.

Victor Zhang, Managing Director, OMODA UK, said: “The Goodwood Festival of Speed is the perfect stage for the UK debut of the OMODA 7 SHS-P Noble Tech. It brings together some of the most passionate automotive enthusiasts, industry experts and forward-thinking customers, making it an ideal opportunity to showcase what OMODA represents.

“The OMODA 7 SHS-P Noble Tech further strengthens OMODA’s growing UK line-up, offering customers a compelling combination of advanced technology, premium features and long-distance efficiency. It reflects our commitment to combining bold design, innovative tech and exceptional value, and we are excited to introduce it to the UK audience at such a prestigious and influential event. This debut marks another important step in our journey as we continue to grow the OMODA brand and deliver innovative vehicles that meet the evolving needs of British drivers.”

All OMODA models receive the brand’s comprehensive 7-year/100,000-mile warranty, an 8-year/100,000-mile battery warranty for the SHS variants, and RAC breakdown services in the UK and Europe as standard for the lifetime of the warranty.
