Nissan Ariya is Refreshed with a Sleeker Design

Nissan has enhanced the looks of the Ariya, as well as making changes to the ride comfort and interior.

The most noticeable changes are at the front. Gone is the large droopy “grille’ in favour of a more sleek front end creating a cohesive and cleaner look.

There’s a set of newly designed 19-inch wheels, and an expanded exterior colour choice with a new Plasma Green colour (featured in the images below). There’s also a range of monotone and two-tone body colours available, too.

Inside, the central console has been completely redesigned with a focus on increasing storage space which now holds up to 3.2 litres and incorporates a new 15W wireless charging pad.

NissanConnect now features a Google built-in system that Nissan says “offers an enhanced connected experience inside and outside of the car”.

Standard features across the range include the new In-Car Route Planner by Google Maps which can be voice controlled by saying “Hey Google, navigate to [insert destination]”. Google Maps seamlessly plans the most efficient route, integrating charging stops if required based on integrated real-time battery levels.

The Ariya can now pre-conditioning the battery to the optimal temperature as it approaches a a pre-planned charging stop, ensuring it gets the quickest charge speeds once plugged in.

Nissan’s Connect Services app will monitor battery levels, manage the charging sessions, plus it can adjust climate settings and monitors tyre pressures via the phone, bringing valuable data into your palm.

As well as the redesign, Nissan has added a bi-directional on-board charger that supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) enabling external devices to be powered, or charged - with up to 3kW of power - directly from the vehicle’s high voltage battery via an optional adapter that plugs into the cars charge port.

There are no changes to DC rapid charging with the Ariya rated up to 130 kW for an approximate 30 minutes 10% - 80% rapid charge.

Suspension has been subject to fine tuning and fettling to deliver both improved stability and a more comfortable ride whilst reducing noticeable vibrations.

Nissan’s ProPILOT advanced driver assistance systems - that includes adaptive distance control, stop-and-go traffic assist - has been enhanced to ensure a more seemless experience.

The refreshed Ariya goes on sale in June with prices starting from £37,000 for the entry level Engage 63kWh. The larger battery Advance 87kWh starts from £43,425.
