New Nissan Micra 52 kWh Qualifies for Full EV Grant

Good news, the all-new Nissan Micra will inherit the full Electric Car Grant when it goes on sale shortly, with the larger 52 kWh battery pack receiving the full £3,750 discount.

However, the smaller 40 kWh battery pack Nissan Micra only qualifies for the £1,500 Electric Car Grant bringing the two versions closer together on price.

The Nissan Micra range starts from £21,495 for he 40 kWh versions, and the 52 kWh versions start from £23,245.

The range kicks off with the entry level Engage trim available only with the 40 kWh battery and priced at £21,495.
The Advance trim with the same battery costs £23,495, but with this option the maths don’t work because for £250 less you can get the 52 kWh Advance version, thanks to the larger EV Car Grant discount being applied.

I can’t see Nissan selling many 40 kWh Advance Micra’s unless there are big dealership-led discounts on offer and I wonder whether it will be dropped from the line-up entirely in the future.

Topping off the range is the Evolve 52 kWh priced at £26,115, but expect all the bells and whistles with that one.

Nissan Micra Interior

The 40 kWh Nissan Micra has a WLTP rated range of 196 miles on a full charge with the 52 kWh version travelling up to 257 miles on test.

And to make travelling easier, the new Micra also features “advanced in-car technology including Google Built-in and the NissanConnect Services app”.

First deliveries of the Nissan Micra begin in April.
