Dacia Introduces the All-New Striker Estate and Talks of 4 New EVs

The Striker

Dacia is proud to boast that it “has built its performance on a disciplined and highly efficient design-to-cost philosophy, delivering a structural cost advantage of 15 per cent compared to the market” and the new Striker has the Skoda Octavia estate firmly in its crosshairs.

At 4.62 meters in length and with a starting price of under €25,000 (£22,000), it undercuts the Skoda Octavia by a huge £7,000, but with specs still to be released, it’s tricky to tell if it will be a like-for-like comparison.

Dacia Striker

The estate Dacia comes as standard with an elevated driving position similar to the old Scout trim level from the previous Skoda Octavia model, and yes, there will be a 4×4 version, too.

The range includes a hybrid version, a hybrid 4x4 and an LPG variant with the latter not destined for the U.K.

The new Striker is part of Renault Group’s futuREady strategy with full details to be revealed in June, but we will endeavour to bring you all the details as soon as they’re released.

Dacia’s Next Cars

As a part of Renault Group’s 2030 strategy, Dacia will expand further into electric mobility launching four new electric cars by 2030.

Along with the revised Spring launching in the ……… er, spring, there will be a new A-segment electric car using Renault Group’s RGEV Small platform and built in Europe with a starting price below €18,000 (£15,500).

Dacia aims to electrify two thirds of its line-up by 2030, be it hybrids or EVs, and it has Renault Group platforms and drivetrains to draw from.

And the next generation Sandero won’t miss out on new technology as it will be built on a multi-fuel platform which could see the first all-electric Sandero hitting U.K. showrooms in the coming years, along with hybrid models, too.

At a time when budgets are being squeezed, Dacia could have the answer to cheaper mobility filling a void left by other brands over the years as it expands its line-up and reveals new exciting cars over the next 4 years.
