A Peak at the New Škoda Peaq

We brought you details of the new 7-seat, full-sized, all-electric Škoda Peaq SUV a few months ago, but now sketches have been revealed ahead of its official launch later this month.

The Peaq is Škoda’s flagship model sitting above the Superb in the pecking order, so we should expect more luxuries as well as a more luxurious price tag. But in this crowded segment, has Škoda done enough?

Karl Neuhold, Head of Exterior Design at Škoda Auto, says: “In designing the exterior of the Škoda Peaq, we consistently applied the Modern Solid design language, combining clean lines, balanced proportions and distinctive elements. Precisely sculpted surfaces and clearly structured details create a confident, timeless presence, while signature features such as the T-shaped headlights and Tech-Deck Face express Škoda’s identity in a new electric era.”

New T-shaped headlights and a redesigned grille panel that Škoda calls it “gloss-black Tech-Deck Face” with a distinct element that frames the top section dominating the front styling and bringing a new, modern era design language to the brand.

A high shoulder line and wide D-pillars bring presence to the road that empowers the car with a robustness that so many look for in an SUV, perhaps borne out of the need to tackle the somewhat unrefined roads.

The rear mimics the front with T-shaped tail-lights and a lower connecting element with the S K O D A lettering spelled out between the tail-lights.

Škoda has undoubtedly made an effort to stand out in a very crowded market of SUVs and crossovers across all sizes. And Škoda has done a great job of giving the new Peaq an air of executiveness for its flagship electric car. But sketches only hint at what’s to come, and undoubtedly Škoda is excited for the Peaq as it has consistently teased details ahead of its launch.

However, nothing comes close to seeing the all-new Škoda Peaq and we will look forward to its official debut on 23 June.
