Next Coachbuild Rolls Royce is Electric
There has been much speculation in the press that Rolls-Royce is moving away from electric cars and getting back on with building W12 cars. But it’s worth noting that they only have one EV on sale and that’s the Spectre coupe.
In fact, the electric powertrain suits cars like the Rolls-Royce exceptionally well for it superior refinement, power and torque, plus whisper quiet motors.

However, it’s not entirely true that Rolls-Royce is abandoning EV’s in favour of petrol-power, but it merely wishes to cover its bases with both powertrains until the inevitable happens and the internal combustion engine runs out of a lifeline.
Today, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars announced its next coachbuilt car will be fully electric stating “The first Rolls-Royce Coachbuild Collection will be a fully electric motor car, reflecting the passion that so many clients have for a fully electric Rolls-Royce.”
According to Rolls-Royce their customers take priority and have requested electric power, saying “For these individuals, the question of how the first Coachbuild Collection should be powered had only one answer.”
And so it seems, Rolls-Royce Motors is committed to both EVs and its W12 engine offering customers choice and delivering what their customers request.
