New Electric KGM Musso AWD Pickup Arrives
KGM explains their new pick-up as “the all-new Musso EV combines the economic benefits of an electric vehicle with the versatility of a pickup and the comfort of an SUV’.
The Korean manufacturer, formally known as Ssangyong, is keen to demonstrate a serious contender to the utility vehicle market, and it hasn’t left the important bits to chance.
The Musso uses a well-tested battery from BYD. The 80.6kWh LFP battery has a range of up to 240 miles and can rapid charge from 20–80% in 31 minutes. As the battery chemistry is LFP, or Lithium Iron Phosphate, these cells prefer a full day-to-day charge meaning that full 240 miles of range (WLTP) will be potentially available following each AC charge.

Now to see if it measures up to work life.
Performance is decent with 207PS and 339Nm of torque. The Musso has a towing capacity of 2.3 tonnes and a 690kg payload, with load-sensitive self-levelling suspension and a permanent all-wheel drive system for optimal traction and performance.
Partitions can be fitted to the load-bed preventing cargo from moving about, and the reinforced tailgate can support 150kg
For added practicality, the Musso is equipped with Vehicle-to-load capabilities providing a powersource to plug in power tools and other equipment directly from the truck.
Although there’s no other pictures to share, KGM says inside their “panoramic widescreen integrates a 12.3-inch digital cluster with a 12.3-inch infotainment display powered by Athena 2.0”, plus there’s the usual drivers assistance from 360 degree cameras, to lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.
Test drives start in May at participating dealers with prices starting from £42,495 including VAT and including the £2,500 Plug-in Van Grant (PiVG).
The Musso also qualifies for a 4% Benefit in Kind tax for 2026/27.
