Dacia Goes Off-Piste with the Duster and Bigster

Dacia has announced two new rugged variants of its Duster and Bigster SUV’s utilising a new hybrid 4x4 150 powertrain.

Built not just for tackling the roads, these budget Land Rover rivals will allow for some freedom to tackle the rough stuff, too. Dacia will be marketing the new 4x4 Duster and Bigster as new rugged, robust SUV's for some outdoor adventures.

Power comes from a new 48v mild hybrid system with EV driving capabilities, although Dacia is making no claims as to how far the cars will travel on electrical power only.

The 150 bhp engine delivers 230 Nm of torque with the electric motor boosting that by another 87 Nm.

Mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox, the driver also receives some paddles mounted behind the steering wheel for a manual override of the gears, useful when tackling challenging terrain.
