Best Selling Car in March 2026 is the Jaecoo 7

Having only entered the U.K. market in January 2025, it hasn’t taken Jaecoo long to reach the top of the sales charts with the Jaecoo 7 reaching 10,064 units sold, overtaking Britain’s previous favourite, the Ford Puma.

Jaecoo describes the 7 as a premium SUV, but starting from £29,210 for the 224 hp hybrid with 360 degree surround view - that has transparent chassis effects - 50W wireless charging for your smartphone and heated electric seats, the entry-level Jaecoo 7 feels more premium than its price suggests. And at over 51 mpg, the Land Rover rival offers diesel economy for petrol prices.

Prices rise to £36,505 for the new Black Edition plug-in hybrid, which does what it says on the tin - everything is blacked out, from wheels, to the large grille, trim and badges to a black interior with ambient lighting and chrome accents which really make the inside feel special. Jaecoo calls this “black luxury”.

Customers can choose front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive with the 1.6-litre TGDi petrol engine, or the range-topping rapid-charging plug-in Super Hybrid System (SHS-P), offering up to 745 miles of range, including 56 miles of EV-only.
However, the new entry-level hybrid seems to be the sweet spot offering efficiency at a low starting price.

Jaecoo also offers a 7-year warranty on their cars, powertrains, battery and motor for peace-of-mind, and with 122 dealerships - and growing - across the U.K. Jaceoo fully intends to stay around and be amenable for servicing and maintenance visits.

Gary Lan, CEO of JAECOO UK, said: “Securing the number one position is a landmark moment for JAECOO. The JAECOO 7 has resonated strongly with British customers thanks to its combination of advanced technology, standout design and real-world usability, particularly with our Super Hybrid System.”

The brand is expanding its range of cars in response to customer demand. The JAECOO 7 range will shortly receive the pure hybrid (SHS-H) variant, alongside a new Black Luxury Edition plug-in hybrid, with deliveries of these models starting next month. This will greatly broaden the appeal of the Jaecoo 7.
