Be.EV Charging Buys MER - More Cheaper Charging Incoming

Be.EV CEO, Asif Ghafoor, announced this afternoon on social media that Be.EV has acquired rival charging company MER in the U.K.

Mr. Ghafoor stated “Over the coming months you'll begin to see blue chargers turning to green as we bring the Be.EV experience (including our 39p/kWh subscription) to all of Mer's previous locations.

We know you like options, and this deal means an extra 450+ places (that’s over 1,600 new bays) to plug-in across the nation, including loads more in the South, yes, we heard you”.

MER CEO, Kristoffer Thoner, stated that he will “sharpen our strategic focus on our core European markets – making EV charging simple and accessible for everyone.”

Be.EV will be looking at using economies of scales to bring charging infrastructure and costs down whilst expanding into the south of the United Kingdom via its new acquisition.

This is very welcome news for all electric car drivers across the U.K. with low cost public charging being a compelling factor for the adoption of electric cars.
Rival charging companies that charge a premium for using their rapid chargers should take note if they wish to stay competitive.
