The Aston Martin Valhalla goes topless with a stunning Spider supercar

The Valhalla Spider is Aston Martin’s first mid-engined open-cockpit production supercar, aimed squarely at driver enjoyment while maintaining performance on the road or the track without compromise.

Not only does Aston Martin’s latest car offer extreme performance thrills, but it screams speed even when stationary. And for the first time Customers can remove the stowable fabric roof section and enjoy the exhilaration from that 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that sits behind the driver, enabling the full noise spectrum un-muffled when the roof is off.

A carbon fibre roof section can be offered as an optional extra, and for many there will be a valid reason to choose this option. With the fabric roof in place, drivers are limited to a top speed of 124mph, yet the optional carbon fibre hard top permits an unrestricted, albeit it electronically limited, roof on, top speed of 217mph.

With the roof off, a unique wind deflector is designed to direct airflow over the open cockpit, but there is a caveat as the deflector must be clipped into position when the roof panel is removed. With the roof on, the wind deflector can be folded into 3 parts and stored inside a 15-litre dedicated sill stowage space.

Performance

Customers will also be pleased to know that the Valhalla Spider shares the same 1079 PS and 1100 Nm of torque as the Coupe version from it’s plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Power comes from a 828 PS 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine - boasting a 207bhp-per-litre output - and a trio of electric motors coupled to the high-voltage Battery that adds an additional 251 PS for that hypercar performance.

Two of those three electric motors drive the front e-axle, complete with full Torque Vectoring, whilst the third motor is integrated with the 8-speed DCT transmission, which assists the V8 engine to drive the rear axle and e-diff.

Drive to each individual wheel is managed by Aston Martin’s advanced Integrated Vehicle Dynamics Control (IVC) system that monitors suspension, braking, steering, active aerodynamics and powertrain systems, all aimed to achieve optimal performance and driver engagement.

All that power from the V8 and 400V Hybrid System translates to a 0-62 mph sprint in a blisteringly fast 2.5 seconds with grips maximised through all four wheels, and tightly monitored by Aston Martin’s proprietary IVC system.

Aston Martin CEO, Adrian Hallmark, said of the Valhalla Spider; “Valhalla Coupe broke so much new ground. Our first production mid-engined supercar. Our first plug-in hybrid. The first to feature our bespoke flat-plane crank V8 engine, and the first to use our all-new 8-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). It also pioneered a fresh design language and achieved a unique blend of exemplary on-road feel and engagement matched by extraordinary on-track capability.

Valhalla Spider builds on those impressive ‘firsts’, preserving the aesthetic beauty and dynamic bandwidth of Valhalla Coupe while introducing the expanded opportunities for enjoyment and engagement that can only be found in an open-cockpit supercar. High speed or low speed. Rain or shine. Roof on or roof off. Road or track. Valhalla Spider ticks every box.”

Valhalla Spider will make its global debut this weekend at the 2026 Concours at Wynn Las Vegas.
