Jeep Avenger Arrives with a New Face
Jeep has given their popular Avenger a refresh inside and out for the electric and hybrid versions - plus there’s an all-new petrol Turbo 100 version complete with a manual gearbox.
The Avenger is Jeep’s smallest, and its most affordable car, made even more affordable thanks to the Band 2 EV Car Grant that now applies to the all electric Avenger models reducing costs by £1,500 from the list price.
Jeep says “the Avenger gives customers the freedom to choose the powertrain they want” thanks to multiple different options with the petrol, hybrid and electric versions as it aims to spread the appeal to a wider demographic.
There’s also a Special Edition aimed at celebrating Jeep’s 85th anniversary, too.
Exterior Design
The entire front end of the car has received a redesign with new headlights that are set back into the car with a darkened housing which gives the new Avenger a distinctive, purposeful look. Slim DRL’s sit atop of each grille segment completing a broken light bar effect.
Cladding can be found all around the vehicle complete with skid plates aimed to avoid bodywork damage from small knocks, but it also enhances Jeep’s rugged image. The 4xe version also gets vertical red front details and the Jeep Shield.
There’s a new set of alloy wheels with 17” and 18” options, either as a painted wheel or diamond-cut alloy. New wheel centre caps now display a Jeep Willys profile.
Jeep have added two brand-new colors; Forest and Bamboo, or green and beige. These colours have been added to the existing palette of Granite, Ruby, Snow, Storm and Volcano. All colours are supposed to represent the nature that Jeep’s can wonder about in.
And to top it off, the black roof option remains (pun intended).

Interior
Jeep has tried to elevate the interior’s perceived quality with new materials and a new design with the door panels now getting a softer material.
The new dashboard sits lower and receives a nice soft-touch padded insert with the Altitude and Summit trims adding a new premium cloth/vinyl upholstery, and the 4xe version gets a washable and durable green interior.
A 10.25-inch infotainment sits central atop the dashboard and is paired to wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, but the infotainment system is said to have a fully customizable interface. It also now receives over-the-air updates that aim to improve the car over time with the possibility of new features and functions being added throughout ownership.
The Jeep App has useful features that allows customers to locate their car, lock and unlock the doors, check the battery level for the EV version plus set the battery charge, and activate climate control directly from a smartphone.
Boot space is a very reasonable 380 litres with the seats up and comes with a reversible boot floor that has a washable surface on one side and a textile surface on the other.

Driving Features
Drive modes come from the Selec-Terrain function and is tuned for different terrains adjusting settings for the accelerator pedal, gearshift, traction & stability control, steering wheel, and - on the 4xe - torque management.
Jeep claims best-in-class off-road capabilities for all versions, perhaps due in part to its unique drive modes for a B-Segment SUV, and also its excellent approach and departure angles (up to 22° approach, 21° breakover, 35° departure) with ground clearance of up to 210 mm.
Add to that its Hill Descent Control as standard on all trims, and the Avenger has the complete off-road package.
LED matrix headlights are now included for safer driving cutting out segments of light for oncoming traffic to reduce glare without reducing visibility.
A 360° camera makes for easy parking, but could also help if traversing the rough stuff, too.
The New petrol Turbo 100
The addition of the new turbo-charged 3-cylinder petrol engine paired to a six-speed manual transmission is aimed at optimising thermal efficiency and reliability. Producing 101 hp and 205 Nm of torque, performance should be perfectly adequate.
And Jeep is so confident of the new engines reliability after extensive testing that it requires a service every 2 years/15,000 miles, where previous versions were required to visit the dealer for a service every year or 12,000 miles with an annual interim check.
