Jaguar’s Luxury four-door GT is Nearly Here
Often you hear motoring journalists talk of evolution rather than revolution during new car launches, but in the case of Jaguar, evolution is officially dead. Instead what we have is nothing short of a revolution and it aims to stun the world.
Jaguar shuttered its factories at the end of 2024 and ceased manufacturing whilst it prepared and retooled for an all-electric future.

As it readjusts its target audience setting the likes of Bentley and Porsche firmly in it sights, Jaguar aims for a market segment light on electric GT’s with luxury, power and composure.
JLR has been moving its Land Rover business into a more luxury focused market in recent years with the Range Rover line-up, so it seems a natural fit for Jaguar to follow suit. From the photos of the latest camouflaged prototypes, it certainly has presence.
And for those who doubt that EVs work in cold climates, Jaguar is testing the new GT four-door in the arctic circle at temps as low as minus 40 Celcius. During these extreme weather tests engineers are fine tuning the the drivetrain and chassis to deliver what Jaguar describes as “true Jaguar dynamics, performance and comfort in all conditions”.
Jaguar is not leaving it to chance, either. This is a high stakes reset for the company and its reportedly undergoing its most extensive and rigorous global validation program with 150 prototypes testing over hundreds of thousands of miles in extreme environments. It is vital that Jaguar gets this right.

With 1,000PS a tap of the peddle away, this is undoubtedly Jaguar’s most powerful car yet. That power will be sent to all four wheels from three motors controlled with Jaguar’s Intelligent Torque Vectoring system to provide sure-footed confidence when one wishes to waft briskly for a rewarding, if not extremely spirited, drive.
All wheel steering will enhance the handling and agility, and the dynamic air suspension with active twin dampers will ensure perfect ride comfort with complete composure.
Huge 23 inch wheel give this GT the presence and purpose of a ‘Big Cat’ stance.

According to reports, the battery pack will be around 120 kWh running on 850v architecture which should provide for ultra rapid charging. Expect in excess of 400 miles of range which, for a GT being wafted down to the south of France, should make it an easy and brisk drive.
Prices have yet to be confirmed, but undoubtedly Jaguar is aiming for customers that won’t shy away from splashing out over £100,000 on their cars.
Due to be revealed in the summer and on sale later this year, Jaguar is pinning its hopes on the success of its relaunch, perhaps even hoping to repeat the success from 1961 when the E-Type launched at the Geneva Motor Show. It caused a massive sensation, even stealing the attention of Enzo Ferrari who was reportedly impressed with what he saw. Let’s hope history can repeat itself.
