BYD and Shell Recharge Team Up

BYD and Shell Recharge have teamed up to bring low cost rapid charging for BYD owners. The partnership will also offer pay-as-you go transactions replacing monthly billings and digital cards will replace physical RFID cards.

The Shell recharge app is embedded into the BYD infotainment system and is accessed via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay making navigating to the nearest Shell chargers an easy and seamless experience for BYD customers.

At Shell Recharge owned and operated chargers, BYD customers will receive a 24p per kWh discount with €0.15 - €0.20 per kWh discounts across Europe on Shell’s own network.

Charging in the U.K. and across Europe is also made simple with access to different network operators via their Shell Recharge app opening up a network of 850,000+ chargers throughout the continent for an easy and simplified refuelling experience.

Currently there is no information on whether Shell will offer BYD customers a plug-in and walk away experience, however, there is no subscription fee for BYD owners to pay helping save more money on refuelling their electric and plug-in hybrid cars.
