Aston Martin Brings Its Most Powerful Production Line-up Ever to Goodwood FoS

Aston Martin will arrive at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed with what it describes as the most potent line-up of production cars in the company's history.

Headlining the display are three new 'S' models – the DB12 S, Vantage S and DBX S – each offering more power, sharper chassis tuning and a greater focus on driver engagement than the cars they replace. Alongside them, visitors will also be able to see the Valkyrie, Valhalla and Vanquish in action, while Aston Martin's 2026 Formula 1 challenger, the AMR25, will also tackle the famous hillclimb.

The timing is significant. Aston Martin has spent the past two years refreshing almost its entire range, and Goodwood provides the perfect stage to showcase the latest chapter of that transformation.

The Aston Martin S Family

DB12 S: A Sharper Super Tourer

Leading the charge is the new DB12 S, the latest evolution of Aston Martin's Super Tourer. While the standard DB12 already blurred the line between grand tourer and sports car, the S version pushes further towards outright performance.

Power from the 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 rises to 700PS and 800Nm, enough to dispatch the 0-60mph sprint in just 3.4 seconds. Aston Martin says it is now the most powerful front-engined V8-powered non-hybrid in its class.

The upgrades extend well beyond the engine. Engineers have recalibrated the eight-speed automatic gearbox to deliver quicker 120-millisecond gearshifts, while revised suspension software, a retuned electronic differential and a stiffer anti-roll bar are designed to improve body control and steering precision. Carbon ceramic brakes are now fitted as standard, reducing unsprung weight while improving stopping performance.

A revised exhaust system also promises a more distinctive soundtrack.

Vantage S Turns Up the Aggression

The Vantage S follows a similar formula, taking Aston Martin's already impressive sports car and giving it a more focused edge.

Its Mercedes-AMG-derived twin-turbocharged V8 develops 680PS and 800Nm, allowing the rear-wheel-drive coupe to sprint from 0-60mph in just 3.3 seconds.

However, Aston Martin says the changes aren't purely about outright speed. New suspension hardware, revised powertrain mounts and bespoke throttle calibration are intended to make the car feel more responsive and connected, particularly on demanding roads or circuit use.

The visual changes are subtle but purposeful. New bonnet blades, a full-width rear spoiler and model-specific detailing give the Vantage S a more aggressive appearance while contributing to aerodynamic performance.

DBX S Brings Supercar Pace to the SUV

Completing the new trio is the DBX S, the latest flagship version of Aston Martin's high-performance SUV.

Borrowing turbocharger technology developed for the forthcoming Valhalla supercar, the 4.0-litre V8 now produces 727PS and 900Nm. Combined with a weight reduction of up to 47kg compared with the DBX707, performance improves to a claimed 0-60mph time of just 3.3 seconds.

Like its stablemates, the DBX S benefits from chassis revisions aimed at making it more agile and responsive, while exterior and interior updates help distinguish it from the already rapid DBX707.

Hypercars Take Centre Stage

While the new S models are likely to attract plenty of attention, Aston Martin's halo cars promise to steal much of the spotlight.

The Valkyrie remains one of the most extreme road cars ever built, bringing Formula 1-inspired aerodynamics and a naturally aspirated V12 to the Goodwood hillclimb.

Joining it is the long-awaited Valhalla, Aston Martin's first series-production mid-engined plug-in hybrid supercar. Producing a combined 1,079PS and 1,100Nm, it represents a significant step into the electrified performance era for the British manufacturer.

Also appearing is the latest Vanquish. Revived as Aston Martin's flagship front-engined grand tourer, the third-generation model marks 25 years since the original Vanquish made its debut.

Formula 1 Presence

Away from the road cars, Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team will once again bring its latest challenger to Goodwood.

The AMR25 will tackle the hillclimb throughout the event, with Formula 2 driver Jak Crawford and Aston Martin development driver Jessica Hawkins both scheduled to take demonstration runs.

Their appearances continue Goodwood's tradition of bringing modern Formula 1 machinery within touching distance of fans.

Goodwood Debut

With its range now almost completely renewed, Aston Martin arrives at Goodwood with arguably the strongest model portfolio it has offered in decades.

Whether it's the more focused DB12 S and Vantage S, the 727PS DBX S or the extraordinary Valkyrie and Valhalla, the British manufacturer is set to have one of the festival's most impressive displays when the Goodwood Festival of Speed opens its gates from 9-12 July.
